First 2012 Ford Focus Electric Models Sent to Select Areas

If you've been thinking about purchasing or leasing the 2013 Ford Focus Electric when it appears in dealerships, you're somewhat in luck. Though the new EV isn't yet available in the Cheyenne, WY area, it will be soon, as Ford sent 67 select dealerships in New Jersey, New York, and California the vehicles earlier this month. These markets make up a major percentage of electric vehicle sales in the United States, and they will be test markets for the vehicle. The best news?  The new Ford Focus Electric will be on sale nationwide later this year.

Mood-Sensing Toyota Vehicles Feature Futuristic Elements

Tis the Season for Social Deals: Toyota Reaches Out Via Twitter

Last year, forward-thinking automaker Toyota tried a different kind of end-of-the-year incentive. The company's Shareathon campaign gave consumers who purchased a new Toyota and then tweeted the message a $500 prepaid debit card. This year, the campaign (through Saatchi & Saatchi L.A.) is slightly different. 140 buyers can still register every day at (www.toyota.com/shareathon) and tweet a scripted message. Those visitors who actually buy or lease a new Toyota vehicle by January 3, 2012 will still receive the $500 prepaid card. However, Toyota consumers this time around also have the chance to gain up to a thousand dollars in fifty dollar increments, depending on how often their initial messages are re-tweeted within 48 hours. Everyone who participated in the program will also be registered to win a new 2011 Toyota Prius.
